Or not. In my eyes, Katherine Heigl aka "Izzie Stevens" on 'Grey's Anatomy' has just about as much class as any of the remaining "Rock of Love" contestants. Katherine may have looked stunning in her white Zac Posen gown and sleek updo last night at the Emmys, but she completely negated her beautiful appearance by her less-than-gracious behavior during the show.
When the Emmy announcer introduced Katherine as 'Katherine Hi-jul' instead of the proper pronuncation, 'Hi-gle,' Katherine took a moment before presenting the next award to say "It's 'Hi-gle,' by the way. It's a hard one, I know." I fully understand irritation at someone mispronouncing your name, but it wasn't really that serious, and at least she didn't call you by a completely different name. Everyone else in the world knows how to pronounce her name properly, so she really didn't need to call the announcer out in the middle of the telecast.
To make matters worse, Katherine won the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress on a Drama Series, and took potty mouth to a new level as she swore her way through her acceptance speech.
Maybe it's just me, but my mother taught me how to be a lady. And part of being a lady means having a certain level of class, especially when you're accepting a prestigious award in front of your peers, colleagues, and millions of TV viewers. Those moments are not meant for four-letter words. Besides, Katherine, wouldn't you prefer watching the clip of 'the time you won your first Emmy' without the quick cutaway after you visibly mouth "Sh*t!" when they announce your name?
That's what I thought.
